���� alumna Amy Schwartz Moretti (BM '98/MM '01, Weilerstein) was awarded the 2015 Juno Award for “Classical Album of the Year: Solo or Chamber Ensemble” for her recording, Bartok: Chamber Works for Violin, Vol. 3 with Canadian violinist James Ehnes. Moretti’s recording, Prokofiev: Complete Works for Violin, which featured Ehnes and three others, received the 2014 Juno Award in the same category. The Juno Awards in Canada, comparable to the American GRAMMY awards, are awarded annually for excellence in music-making in a variety of categories. To win two in a row is a great accomplishment.

Moretti is both a performer and educator. She often appears with the New York Pops and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and the festival orchestras of Brevard, Colorado and Grand Teton. She’s toured Europe as a member of the Ehnes quartet and was awarded the use of a 1744 Guadagnini violin, known as the “Canadian,” the sound of which she describes as “sweet, luscious, dark, beautiful and most of the time, forgiving.” Moretti currently serves as Director of the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings at Mercer University.
