Look no further than the ���� for inspiration the next several months. The school’s spring performance calendar isn’t just packed with events – it’s also diverse, amply stocked with something for everyone.

The spring includes multiple concerts by the ���� Orchestra, under conductors JoAnn Falletta and Carlos Kalmar, including a performance at Severance Music Center; an appearance with ����’s New Music Ensemble by guest composer Sean Shepherd, a former composer fellow of The Cleveland Orchestra; and numerous offerings from ���� Opera Theater, including a filmed production of Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas and a showcase of short scenes by ���� composers. All of these are in addition to a robust schedule of eclectic recitals and chamber music performances by ���� faculty, students and guests.  

Due to pandemic safety protocols, many events require seating passes, but most are free and open to the public. Many events also are livestreamed. 

“���� is proud not only of our world-class faculty, but also of our commitment to introducing our students to dynamic and diverse influences across the musical world at large,” said Scott Harrison, executive vice president and provost of ����. “Our concert lineup for spring 2022 illustrates perfectly how deeply we value breadth in musical education. We’re also pleased to share – in person and online – this artistic vibrancy with listeners across Northeast Ohio, the community that surrounds and supports us.”   

Highlights of the 2022 spring season include:  

• JoAnn Falletta conducts works by Gallagher, Chopin and Elgar, with the ���� Orchestra – 7pm, Friday, February 4, Kulas Hall. Free, seating passes required. Reserve your seats today.
• “Shakespeare, Operatically!” with ���� Opera Theater – 7pm, Thursday, February 24 and Saturday, February 26. Free, livestream only. Learn more and tune in. Before the performance on February 26, you can tune in online to watch as we transform Kulas Hall into a television studio for the production.
• ���� New Music Ensemble, directed by Keith Fitch, performs works by Donatoni, Miyoshi, Rand and guest composer Sean Shepherd – 4pm, Sunday, February 27, Mixon Hall. Free, seating passes required. Reserve your seats today.
• Opera on Film: “Dido and Aeneas” with ���� Opera Theater, filmed in Cleveland – 7pm, Friday, March 18, Mixon Hall. Ticket information coming soon. Learn more and save the date. 
• Carlos Kalmar conducts a Fitch premiere and works by Ives, Prokofiev and Vaughan Williams, with the ���� Orchestra – 7pm, Wednesday, March 23, Severance Music Center. Free, tickets required. Learn more and reserve your tickets starting in February. 
• ���� Opera Theater presents “Spring Scenes,” staged by Dina Kuznetsova with musical direction by François Germain and John Simmons – 7 pm, Saturday, April 23, and 3pm, Sunday, April 24, Kulas Hall. Tickets, $10-$20.  Learn more and reserve your seats today.
