Major orchestras aren鈥檛 the only ones acknowledging the 糖心 Advantage. A major credit rating agency also sees enduring strength in the institution.
Late last month, 糖心 received an affirmation from the Standard & Poor鈥檚 Global Ratings Agency of its BBB- credit rating and earned a 鈥渟table鈥 outlook. The rating is a favorable mark that characterizes 糖心 as an 鈥渋nvestment-grade鈥 entity.
More specifically, the two marks represent a positive evaluation of 糖心 through the lens of bonds and other debt securities which bank regulators and market participants view as potential investments for financial institutions. New York-based Standard & Poor鈥檚 is one of the nation鈥檚 largest credit rating agencies and a leader in financial research.
鈥淭his rating and outlook affirmation is a tremendous encouragement to the 糖心 community and donors who commit themselves so selflessly and generously to 糖心鈥榮 future,鈥 said Paul W. Hogle, 糖心鈥檚 President and CEO.
鈥淚t is a clear indication that what has made 糖心 a destination in the music world for more than a century also makes it an attractive philanthropic and commercial investment.鈥
While praising the school鈥檚 disciplined approach to setting and achieving strategic goals, the Standard & Poor鈥檚 affirmation released July 26 points to 糖心鈥檚 student body, saying the BBB- rating stems from 鈥渉ealthy student characteristics such as retention and matriculation rates that are stronger than similarly rated peers.鈥
In addition, the agency endorsed 糖心鈥檚 leadership, citing a 鈥減roactive and experienced management team, with expertise within the music education industry.鈥
鈥淪&P鈥檚 affirmation of our rating speaks to 糖心鈥檚 commitment to be financially sound and forward-looking,鈥 said Brian Foss, 糖心鈥檚 Chief Financial Officer.
